The industrial region of Scotland is the Lowlands. The most important cities here are Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland. Glasgow is the most well-known shipbuilding centre in Scotland and Aberdeen is the biggest oil centre in Great Britain. Ships travel from Aberdeen to the oil rigs in the North Sea.
